About HRW

Hamptons Restaurant Week is an annual event on the East End of Long Island. The eight-day promotion features a special prix fixe dinners offered by all restaurant participants. The promotion also includes discounts at lodging properties, local vineyards and spas outlets. The Eighth Annual “Hamptons Restaurant Week” is scheduled to launch the last week of March, from Sunday, March 21st through Sunday, March 28th, 2010.

In addition to its beautiful beaches, lovely historic villages, vineyards and shopping, the renowned East End of Long Island is well known for its dining scene. Some of the finest food on the East Coast is available in this cluster of elegant resort towns known as “The Hamptons.” And for one week before the start of “high season,” Hamptons and East End dining will be available for bargain prices. The idea is simple: for eight days, Sunday to Sunday, all participating restaurants offer three-course prix fixes for $19.95 and/or $24.95 all night except Saturday when it will be offered until 7 p.m. Each restaurant offers their own unique menu selections and some restaurants will feature $19.95 or $24.95 bottles of Long Island wine from participating vineyards. The non-restaurant participants broaden the scope of the promotion by offering discounts at vineyards, lodging properties and spas on the East End of Long Island.

The premise of Restaurant Weeks is to attract new diners at sluggish periods by restaurants putting forward their best menu and service at a fraction of the price. Since 2003, Hamptons Restaurant Week restaurateurs experienced a surge in business, some, by more than 50 percent during the promotion. Many restaurants reported midweek numbers to be up over 50 to 200 percent and some even opened early just for the week. Now an annual campaign that benefits thousands of diners and nearly 100 businesses each year, it has expanded to include vineyards, lodging properties and spas across the East End. In 2006, the promotion moved west to encompass all of the region with the first Long Island Restaurant Week in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Both Long Island Restaurant Week and Hamptons Restaurant Week have generated millions of dollars in revenue for participating businesses.

The campaign also won an honorable mention from the MarCom Creative Awards, an international competition recognizing outstanding achievement by marketing and communications professionals.
